Since early May, the county has been focusing its administrative power to overcome the damage to residents caused by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and to revitalize the economy.
To support residents, the county is implementing livelihood support projects that provide practical help to residents in various fields such as economic assistance.
With economic support, a total of 20.7 billion KRW, including 6.7 billion KRW from the county budget, is being invested to promote government-type emergency disaster relief funds, temporary living support for low-income households, public service allowances for farmers and fishermen, and senior job projects.
The government-type emergency disaster relief fund is being provided to 16,107 households with an investment of 9 billion KRW, paying 400,000 to 1 million KRW per household member in cash, credit (check) cards, prepaid cards, and Jindo Arirang gift certificates.
The Jeonnam-type emergency living expenses amounting to 3.6 billion KRW are being paid at 300,000 to 500,000 KRW per household, and emergency support of 300,000 to 500,000 KRW per household was also provided to 1,461 households in the lower-income bracket receiving basic livelihood security benefits.
In particular, rent (tax) reductions and loan support were provided to small business owners and companies hit directly by COVID-19.
For 1,743 small business operators with annual sales under 300 million KRW, 300,000 KRW for public utility fees was paid, and taxi, bus, and freight vehicle drivers received 500,000 KRW per person.
Rent for traditional markets was reduced by 50%, commercial public property lease fees were cut by 50%, and from April, commercial water charges were reduced by 50% for two months for all Jindo-gun residents.
Additionally, various COVID-19 damage support measures are being promoted, including temporary child-rearing support, special employment response support for freelancers, youth job-seeking activity allowances, and a 50% reduction in agricultural machinery rental fees.
Furthermore, the county plans various policies to revive the local economy, such as promoting disaster relief funds with campaigns like "Good Consumption, Quick Use" to support small business owners and traditional markets.
