14 New COVID-19 Cases Related to Seoul Itaewon Clubs Confirmed in One Day
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) related to the Itaewon club cluster in Seoul increased by 14 in one day.
As of 10 a.m. on the 26th, Seoul city announced that the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Seoul area reached 792. This is an increase of 16 compared to the same time the previous day.
Among the new confirmed cases, 14 were classified as related to the Itaewon club cluster. These include family members, acquaintances, and colleagues who were second- or third-generation infections from the initially confirmed cases who directly visited the Itaewon clubs.
Accordingly, the total number of confirmed cases related to the Itaewon club cluster in Seoul is now 127, of which 67 directly visited Itaewon, and 60 were infected through contact with them.
Among the additional confirmed cases, one was a man in his 50s who entered the country from overseas, and a kindergarten student confirmed to have been infected by an art academy instructor in Gangseo-gu the previous day was also included in today's count. No additional confirmed cases related to the Gangseo-gu art academy have been reported so far.

Of the 792 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Seoul to date, 614 have been declared recovered and discharged, while 174 are currently receiving isolation treatment.
