Gangbuk-gu, Recruiting New Subscribers for Passenger Car Mileage Program
Comparison of Annual Average Driving Distance and Driving Distance for One Year After Enrollment, 20,000 to 70,000 Points Awarded Based on Reduction Rate and Amount... Applications Available on Passenger Car Mileage Website or at District Office Autonomous Administration Division and Each Dong Community Service Center
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Kyum-soo) is recruiting new subscribers for the Passenger Car Mileage program to reduce greenhouse gases and fine dust by decreasing car usage.
The Passenger Car Mileage program provides incentives based on the reduction in driving distance by comparing the average annual mileage with the mileage driven during one year after enrollment. Anyone who owns a non-commercial passenger car or van with 12 seats or fewer registered in Seoul can participate. One person can also register multiple vehicles.
Subscribers receive points based on the reduction rate and amount of mileage: ▲ 20,000 points for a 0-10% reduction or 0-1000 km reduction ▲ 30,000 points for a 10-20% reduction or 1000-2000 km reduction ▲ 50,000 points for a 20-30% reduction or 2000-3000 km reduction ▲ 70,000 points for over 30% reduction or more than 3000 km reduction. Mileage points are awarded using the method most favorable to the participant between reduction rate and reduction amount.
Points can be used to pay automobile tax and property tax through the Seoul Metropolitan Government's local tax internet payment system (ETAX) or exchanged for mobile book and cultural gift certificates. Donations for desertification prevention tree planting are also possible.
Those wishing to participate in the Passenger Car Mileage program can apply via the PC or mobile website or by visiting the 5th floor of the district office's Autonomous Administration Division or the local community center in person. Afterward, uploading photos of the vehicle license plate and odometer to the website within 7 days completes the enrollment.
