Yangcheon-gu Mok3-dong Urban Regeneration New Deal Area Selected for Smart Technology Contest
Secured 1.25 Billion KRW Budget for Smart City Projects to be Implemented Over One Year Starting June
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) has been finally selected in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s ‘Living-Close Urban Regeneration Smart Technology Support Project’ competition, securing a total of 1.25 billion KRW.
The ‘Living-Close Urban Regeneration Smart Technology Support Project,’ newly launched by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport this year, is a competitive project aimed at restoring residential conditions in existing urban regeneration New Deal areas lacking infrastructure by applying smart technologies that are highly perceptible in a short period and easy to commercialize.
Yangcheon-gu applied for five smart technology support projects targeting the Mok 3-dong urban regeneration New Deal area. The five projects finally selected are ▲ Kkaebi Market Smart Safe Walking Service ▲ Contactless 24-hour Unmanned Smart Library ▲ Safe School Route Project ▲ Smart One-Stop Home Repair Platform Establishment ▲ Smart Waste Separation Service.
The district secured a total budget of 1.25 billion KRW, including 500 million KRW in national funding and matching funds from Seoul City and the district. Starting from June, the project will be promoted for one year through additional consultations with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and related organizations and departments.
Kim Soo-young, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, “We will promote the selected projects in cooperation with local government experts and others,” adding, “By integrating smart solutions with high resident perception into urban regeneration project areas, we expect to contribute to restoring residential conditions within the region.”
