Ha Tae-kyung: "The One with Memory Issues Is Not Grandma Lee Yong-soo but Yoon Mee-hyang"
"When New Suspicions Including Apartment Purchase Funds Emerge, Statements Keep Changing"
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Lim Ju-hyung] Ha Tae-kyung, a member of the United Future Party, claimed regarding the allegations surrounding Yoon Mi-hyang, the elected member of the Democratic Party of Korea, that "the problem is Yoon Mi-hyang's memory, not Grandmother Lee Yong-soo's."
On the 19th, Ha wrote on his Facebook, "Yoon changed her story about her apartment purchase in less than a day," adding, "In the morning, she said the funds for the apartment bought at auction in 2012 came from selling her previous home, but in the afternoon, she said it was a memory mistake and that she broke savings and borrowed money from family members."
He continued, "The person with memory problems is not Grandmother Lee but Yoon Mi-hyang herself."
Earlier, at a press conference held on the 7th, Grandmother Lee claimed that Yoon and the Justice and Memory Foundation (Jeonguiyeondae) "did not use the donations for the victims," raising suspicions of embezzlement of the comfort women donation funds by Jeonguiyeondae.

Ha pointed out, "The distorted memory belongs to Yoon Mi-hyang and Jeonguiyeondae," adding, "Every time new suspicions arise about the apartment purchase, Jeonguiyeondae's accounting issues, and the Anseong shelter, the story keeps changing."
He further emphasized, "Even Democratic Party members say they should no longer defend Yoon," and urged, "The Democratic Party must end the colorism that dismisses legitimate criticism of Yoon Mi-hyang and Jeonguiyeondae's allegations as pro-Japanese attacks."

Meanwhile, Yoon appeared on CBS radio on the 18th and explained the source of funds for the apartment she won at auction in 2012, worth around 200 million won, saying, "I sold the apartment I previously lived in to buy the apartment at auction." However, in an interview with a media outlet in the afternoon, she reversed her statement, saying, "I canceled three savings accounts, and since that was not enough, I borrowed money from family members to prepare the auction funds for the apartment."
