Early This Month Itaewon Visit, 30s Vietnamese Confirmed Positive... Workplace Colleague Also Infected
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] A man in his 30s of Vietnamese nationality who visited an Itaewon club in Yongsan-gu, Seoul earlier this month was belatedly confirmed positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). Secondary transmission occurred as a workplace colleague was also infected.
According to quarantine authorities and Gwangju City in Gyeonggi Province on the 17th, a 32-year-old Vietnamese man residing in Songjeong-dong in the jurisdiction tested positive for COVID-19 the day before.
The man visited an Itaewon club on the 1st of this month, and after symptoms appeared, he contacted an acquaintance living in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, and underwent a specimen test at the Bucheon City Public Health Center screening clinic on the 15th.
A 43-year-old male workplace colleague living in Samdong, Gwangju City, Gyeonggi Province, also tested positive for COVID-19. It is known that he began experiencing decreased taste and smell since the 14th.

Among the 10 family members and workplace colleagues who had contact with these two individuals, 4 tested negative for COVID-19, and the remaining 6 are undergoing testing. Quarantine authorities are investigating their detailed movement paths and additional contacts.
