Rep. Pyo appeared on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' on the 15th and said, "(Moon Hyeong-wook) even received profits in the form of cultural gift certificates, and gave a significant portion of them to the victims to silence them, while withholding most of the criminal proceeds."
Regarding Moon Hyeong-wook's criminal activities, Rep. Pyo said, "It doesn't seem that he lacked greed for money or that he didn't target money," adding, "He also showed meticulousness in trying to make the SNS login he used not registered under his own name."
He continued, "Primarily, his focus was on not being caught," and explained, "He was likely in the process of assessing 'How safe is this?' and 'Is it profitable?' as a future job or revenue business."
Host Kim Hyun-jung asked, "The police revealed 10 victims, but Moon Hyeong-wook himself corrected that to about 50. What is the reason for this?"
Rep. Pyo gave two reasons: "One is to seek leniency from the court, and the second possibility is that there may be many more than 50 victims," adding, "In that case, by voluntarily stating 50 victims first, he might have hoped the matter would end there."
Rep. Pyo also mentioned that during the second preparatory hearing for the trial of Jo Joo-bin, the operator of the 'Doctor's Room,' held on the 14th, Jo Joo-bin's defense lawyer requested the removal of the electronic anklet order.
He explained, "An electronic anklet order is not applicable solely for digital sex crimes," adding, "Therefore, Son Jung-woo, who operated dark web and Welcome to Video sexual exploitation materials in the past, was not subject to an electronic anklet order because it was not proven that he was involved in actual sexual assault."
However, he said, "Jo Joo-bin was involved and instigated (sexual assault) and is the main perpetrator and accomplice," emphasizing, "It is important that he committed sexual exploitation and sexual violation crimes, whether he did so sitting in a room or elsewhere."
He further explained, "The order for public disclosure of Jo Joo-bin's identity is not a court disposition," and said, "Claiming that the electronic anklet order to be imposed after release is double punishment is completely unacceptable and will likely not persuade the court."
