Com2uS Reports Operating Profit of 23.6 Billion KRW in Q1, Down 21% Year-on-Year
'Com2uS Pro Baseball 2020' and Others Achieve Record High Sales of 10 Billion Won
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Com2uS announced on the 13th that its first-quarter sales reached 98.3 billion KRW, and operating profit was 23.6 billion KRW.
This represents a decrease of 8.7% in sales and 21.6% in operating profit compared to the same period last year. Com2uS explained that despite the usual off-season for its major games, it showed solid performance based on the growth of its baseball game lineup and the achievements of "Summoners War," which has established itself as a global game. It recorded overseas sales of 74.5 billion KRW, accounting for 76% of the total, with balanced performance worldwide.
Com2uS has focused on strategic preparations according to the service schedules of major games and external environments in the second quarter. Since last month, it has shown remarkable results, and it expects these to lead to high performance.
Summoners War has prepared updates and promotions to mark its 6th anniversary since launch. As a result, the number of daily active users recently hit the highest record in the past three years due to a significant increase in new and returning users last month, and the rankings in application markets worldwide rose again, confirming its status as a long-running global hit game.
Despite the delay in the opening of professional baseball, baseball games such as "Com2uS Pro Baseball 2020" and "MLB 9 Innings 20" showcased various content prepared for the original season, achieving a combined sales record of approximately 10 billion KRW in April, the highest ever.
Com2uS plans to continuously expand its global game IP by enhancing its global market strategies for major games and accelerating the development of multiple new titles, including "Summoners War: Hundred Years' War."
