[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Noh Hyun-song) held an emergency countermeasure meeting on the 12th in the mayor's office to prevent COVID-19 cluster infections following the recent cluster infection incident at Itaewon clubs.
At the meeting, special attention was given to inspecting the quarantine system of public facilities such as welfare facilities, cultural and sports facilities, which are about to open, as the social distancing policy shifted to everyday distancing (생활방역).
Mayor Noh Hyun-song said, "Depending on the situation of each facility, we will operate programs with adjusted hours and entry restrictions to prevent overcrowding, and since there is still a risk of infection from using multi-use facilities, users must strictly follow quarantine guidelines such as temperature checks and wearing masks."
In particular, he urged, "Although the quarantine system has been relaxed to everyday distancing, since there are asymptomatic carriers, we must make mask-wearing a daily habit to protect ourselves and others from infectious diseases."
