Yeongsangang Regional Office Takes Active Steps to Revitalize Shrinking Local Commercial Areas
Operation of Local Restaurant Usage Day and Early Budget Execution Decided
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Yeongsangang River Basin Environmental Office (Director Ryu Yeon-gi) of the Ministry of Environment has stepped up efforts to revitalize the shrinking local commercial district.
The Yeongsangang River Basin Environmental Office announced on the 11th that, to revitalize the local commercial district weakened by COVID-19, it will designate every Friday until next month as "Local Restaurant Usage Day."
Additionally, it decided to prepay budgets required for events and meetings to expedite budget execution.
As social distancing shifts to everyday distancing and gatherings are generally permitted under the premise of compliance with quarantine guidelines, the office plans to use local restaurants while adhering to detailed everyday distancing guidelines.
By following prescribed procedures to prepay budgets within this month for expenditures whose purpose, location, and amount are predictable within the year for various events and meetings, it is expected to help the local commercial district struggling with the consumption cliff.
