KDB Industrial Bank to Host 'NextRise 2020' Next Month... Venture and Startup Investment Consultations
June 23-24 at COEX
Venture startups and investors to hold 1:1 on-site consultations
Applications accepted on the official website until the 22nd
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo Gang-wook] The Korea Development Bank (KDB) announced on the 11th that it will hold the startup fair 'NextRise 2020, Seoul' at COEX from November 23 to 24, in collaboration with the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), and will conduct one-on-one consultations between startups, large and medium-sized enterprises, and investors.
KDB and KITA plan to support business cooperation and investment attraction for ventures and startups by accepting on-site consultation applications with domestic and international large and medium-sized enterprises and investors targeting ventures and startups.
This event is held by KDB and KITA together with the National Research Council of Science & Technology, the Korea Venture Business Association, and the Korea Venture Capital Association to revitalize the innovation growth ecosystem, which has been contracted due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), and to support the co-growth of startups and large enterprises. KDB and KITA expect this event to be a starting point where ventures, startups, domestic and international large and medium-sized enterprises, and investors come together to overcome the crisis caused by COVID-19.
In particular, this event is the largest open innovation fair with the participation of about 50 domestic large and medium-sized enterprises and numerous overseas large corporations, aiming to support startups' business cooperation and market development, which have been contracted due to COVID-19. Additionally, large and medium-sized enterprises plan to seek open innovation through collaboration with startups to discover new growth engines and promote co-growth with startups.
More than 20 leading domestic and international investment institutions, including KDB, will participate and conduct one-on-one investment attraction consultations on-site. Startups will resume investment attraction activities that have been stagnant due to COVID-19, and investors are expected to discover promising startups and invest in them, creating an opportunity to nurture the next-generation unicorns.
