Daejeon City Supports Rental Fees for Local Artists' Small Theaters and Galleries
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City is providing rental fee support for cultural spaces such as small theaters and galleries used by local artists. The purpose is to assist the arts community struggling with management difficulties due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
According to the city on the 11th, support for rental fees of cultural spaces for local artists is provided when space operators who rent and operate dedicated art activity spaces (small theaters, galleries, etc.) in the city have signed a lease contract for more than six months and can operate (use) the space until January next year. The support amount is up to 2 million KRW.
Applications are accepted only online via email starting from the 11th. For more detailed information regarding the application, you can refer to the Daejeon Cultural Foundation website.
Han Seon-hee, Director of the Cultural, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the city, said, “At a meeting with small theater representatives last year, there were voices hoping for rental fee support,” and added, “We hope this rental fee support can be of some help to the local arts community, which has fallen into stagnation.”
