New COVID-19 Cases in China Drop to Double Digits Again... Cases Also Reported in Wuhan
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyo-jin] The number of new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in China has increased to double digits again after 9 days.
The National Health Commission of China announced on the 10th that there were 14 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in mainland China on the 9th, with no deaths reported. This is the first time in 9 days since the 30th of last month that more than 10 confirmed cases were reported in a single day in China.
There were 20 "asymptomatic infections," who tested positive in nucleic acid tests but showed no symptoms such as fever or cough, including 17 in Hubei Province. Among the 14 confirmed cases, 12 were locally transmitted, with 11 from Shulan City in Jilin Province and 1 from Wuhan in Hubei Province.
This is the first confirmed case reported in Wuhan, the origin of COVID-19, in 36 days since before the city lockdown was lifted on the 4th of last month. Recently, only asymptomatic infections have been reported in Wuhan.
The cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in China stands at 82,901, with 4,633 deaths. The number of patients remaining in hospitals among the confirmed cases has decreased to 148.

Currently, 794 asymptomatic infections are under medical observation. China excludes asymptomatic infections from the confirmed case statistics.
