Gojinyoung VS Park Sunghyun, 'Hyundai Card Super Match' Showdown on the 24th
Live Broadcast on SBS Golf Channel from 2 PM on the 24th
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Women's professional golf world No. 1 Go Jin-young and No. 3 Park Sung-hyun will face off.
Hyundai Card announced on the 8th that it will hold the 'Hyundai Card Super Match Go Jin-young VS Park Sung-hyun' at 2 p.m. on the 24th at Sky72 Golf & Resort located in Incheon.
This event is the first to be held in nine years since the 2011 'Hyundai Card Super Match 12 Dance Sports.' The Hyundai Card Super Match is a differentiated sports event utilizing sports with a weak domestic base such as tennis, figure skating, snowboarding, and dance sports, starting with the tennis match between Maria Sharapova and Venus Williams in 2005.
This match will be conducted in a skins game format where the player with the lower score on each hole with prize money wins the prize for that hole. On two holes selected by each player (Player Challenge Holes), if the designated player wins, they can earn an additional prize of 10 million won.
The total prize money allocated for all holes in the Hyundai Card Super Match is 100 million won. The prize money will be donated in the names of the players to the charities designated by each player after the match. Both players are already members of the Honor Society, a high-value donor group.
Pro Go Jin-young is the strongest female professional golfer worldwide, holding the LPGA No. 1 spot for 50 consecutive weeks. Based on precise play with a powerful iron shot as her weapon, she swept all individual record categories on the US LPGA last year, becoming the first Korean to achieve the LPGA grand slam.
Park Sung-hyun is currently ranked 3rd in the world and is the first player in LPGA history to reach world No. 1 in her debut year. In particular, Park Sung-hyun is a popular star with many golf fans due to her aggressive play reminiscent of Tiger Woods.
