Hancom Group and Gwangju City Join Hands to Revitalize AI Industry
Technical Support for Building Business Platforms Related to AI Cluster Development
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Hancom Group (hereinafter Hancom Group) is partnering with Gwangju Metropolitan City to establish a strategic cooperative relationship to revitalize the artificial intelligence (AI) industry.
On the 7th, Hancom Group and Gwangju City signed a business agreement at Hancom Tower in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, to foster the AI industry. Through this agreement, Hancom Group will be responsible for providing technical support and policy consulting necessary for building a business platform related to the establishment of the Gwangju AI cluster. They also plan to collaborate on developing job-linked educational programs such as software (SW) convergence education for nurturing talent in the AI and drone fields.
They plan to contribute to the development of Drone Valley for building drone industry infrastructure, the distribution of intelligent service robots, the establishment of mobility platforms including Internet of Things (IoT) shared parking, and the development of blockchain-based services. Gwangju City will prepare corporate support programs to create an AI industry ecosystem and establish education and employment programs for AI field specialists.

The signing ceremony was attended by key figures including Kim Sang-cheol, Chairman of Hancom Group, and Lee Yong-seop, Mayor of Gwangju City. Chairman Kim said, "Hancom Group is rapidly emerging in the AI and drone fields," adding, "We will actively cooperate to help Gwangju City leap forward as a world-class AI city."
