Positive Test Result from Specimen Collection in Asymptomatic State
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Seung-gon, Intern Reporter Lim Joo-hyung] A man in his 30s residing in Anyang City, Gyeonggi Province, has tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). This man was identified as a contact of a 29-year-old office worker living in Yongin City who tested positive the day before.
Anyang City announced on the 7th that Mr. A (31), residing in Pyeongchon-dong, Anyang City, Gyeonggi Province, was confirmed positive. Mr. A was notified of the positive result from a test conducted after collecting a specimen while he was asymptomatic.
Anyang City transferred Mr. A to Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center Suwon Hospital and is investigating Mr. A’s movements and detailed infection route together with epidemiologists.
Additionally, disinfection near his residence has been completed, and diagnostic tests are being conducted on Mr. A’s close contacts, his parents, who are under self-quarantine.
