[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Seul-gi] Jeonghan (25) of the idol group Seventeen apologized after using profanity during a 'V Live' broadcast, Naver's celebrity live streaming service.
On the 5th, Jeonghan was playing a game with member Dokyeom on V Live and advised Dokyeom, "Not yet. Jump," but when the game did not go well, he said, "X-dwaenne" (a Korean expletive).
Immediately after the remark, Jeonghan looked surprised at the camera, covered his mouth, and apologized, saying, "Sorry to Carats (Seventeen's fandom name). I'm really sorry."
After the broadcast, Jeonghan posted another apology on his social network service (SNS), writing, "I'm sorry. Carats, I will be more careful from now on." The video containing Jeonghan's profanity has since been deleted from the V Live channel.
Netizens have debated Jeonghan's mistake, commenting, "It's understandable during a game," "He apologized immediately, so there should be no controversy," "If a girl group member had done that, the reaction would have been different," and "It's surprising that such natural profanity comes out even though he knows he's on air."
