The fever screening station at Jindo Bridge, which operated for 72 days since February 24, contributed to preventing the influx of COVID-19 into the region.
The 24-hour fever screening station involved a total of 3,549 public officials, related organizations such as Jindo Police Station and Army Unit 8539, and about 3,300 volunteers, checking the temperature of approximately 360,000 vehicles and 710,000 individuals, effectively blocking the entry of COVID-19.
In addition, to practice social distancing, 241 inspections were conducted on religious and sports facilities within the area, and periodic disinfection of multi-use facilities was carried out to prevent the spread of COVID-19, focusing administrative efforts on these measures.
Thanks to these efforts, Jindo-gun has recorded zero confirmed COVID-19 cases and is smoothly transitioning to social distancing in daily life.
During the holiday period from the 30th of last month to the 5th, major tourist sites in the area were opened, and 29 teams of on-site support personnel along with senior public officials were deployed to ensure the safe tourism of visitors.
As a result, despite the visit of about 50,000 tourists during the holiday period, the situation was concluded without any spread of COVID-19.
