Yongin City Conducts 'Emergency Inspection' of 18 Large Logistics Warehouse Construction Sites
[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province will conduct an emergency safety inspection of 18 logistics warehouse sites under construction in the area from the 6th to the 12th.
This measure is to prevent similar accidents like the logistics warehouse fire that occurred in Icheon City on the 29th of last month.
To this end, Yongin City has formed a joint inspection team consisting of the Citizen Safety Officer, the Architecture Department, Yongin Fire Station, and the Safety Management Advisory Group.
The emergency inspection targets 18 sites, including the 254,255㎡ Namjang-ri warehouse of Namsa Logistics Terminal Co., Ltd. located in Namsa-myeon, Cheoin-gu.
Among them, five sites are in the finishing construction stage, such as Wonjin Logistics warehouse in Maeng-ri, Wonsam-myeon; four sites are in the framework construction stage, such as Dongwon Logistics warehouse in Gomae-dong, Giheung-gu. Seven sites are in the foundation construction stage, such as Asia Trust warehouse in Yangji-ri, Yangji-myeon, and two sites, including Namsa Logistics Terminal warehouse, have either completed construction or are temporarily in use.
The city will focus on inspecting the secured evacuation routes within the construction sites, safety measures such as the presence of safety managers during welding and cutting work, the establishment and proper implementation of safety management plans, hazardous material management status under the Hazardous Materials Control Act, and the maintenance status of temporary firefighting facilities at the construction sites.
