All 38 Victims of the Icheon Disaster Identified
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] The identities of all 38 victims who died in the fire at a logistics warehouse construction site in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, were confirmed on the 2nd. This comes three days after the accident occurred.
The Southern Gyeonggi Provincial Police Agency investigation headquarters received notification around 5 p.m. that day from the National Forensic Service that the DNA of the last unidentified victim matched that of their family. With this, the identities of all nine victims initially classified as unidentified among the 38 fire fatalities have been confirmed.
A police official stated, "To protect the victims, we have formed a dedicated team of 49 members in 10 groups to regularly update the families on the investigation progress and provide support to minimize any inconvenience."

The fire occurred at around 1:32 p.m. on the 29th of last month at a logistics warehouse construction site in Moga-myeon, Icheon City. The flames spread throughout the building following an explosion, resulting in 38 workers dead and 10 injured.
