Hyundai Avante N Line, Surprise Pre-Launch in Global Market
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Hyundai Motor Company surprised the global market on the 28th by unveiling teaser images and videos of the high-performance 'N Line' model of the new 7th generation Avante.
The Avante N Line is a performance model positioned between the existing sports version, the 'Avante Sports,' and the upcoming high-performance 'Avante N' model. It is expected to feature an improved powertrain and chassis dynamics compared to the base model, along with design elements that emphasize a high-performance image.
According to the teaser images released by Hyundai, the 7th generation 'Avante N Line' shows little change in exterior design compared to the standard Avante, but differentiation is achieved through 18-inch alloy wheels and dual mufflers.
For the powertrain, an upgraded turbo engine is expected to be installed to deliver the distinctive high-performance driving feel of the N Line. According to some foreign media reports, the 7th generation Avante N Line will combine the 1.6ℓ turbo engine and 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission) used in the 'i30 N Line.' This engine produces a maximum output of 204 horsepower and a maximum torque of 27.0 kgf·m.
This is the first time the N Line has been launched in the compact sedan segment with the Avante, and it is significant that the teaser images and videos were first released in the global market under the name 'Elantra (Avante) N Line,' rather than the Korean market. Industry insiders expect full-scale production of the Avante N Line to begin after June, and the launch of the 'Avante N' model, which will surpass the N Line, is also anticipated.
