Gangnam District Residents Participate in ICT Living Lab Workshop Held
Policy Development for Direct Resident Participation Using Information and Communication Technology ... Presenting the Vision of a Smart City
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) held the ‘Gangnam-gu Citizen Participation ICT Living Lab Workshop’ on the 28th at the Gangnam-gu Office, with about 40 participants including the district mayor, expert committee members, citizen participation group, and department officials.
The ‘Gangnam-gu Citizen Participation ICT Living Lab’ aims to move away from the traditional administration-centered policy decision-making and instead enable Gangnam-gu citizens, the policy consumers, to proactively identify and solve community issues using information and communication technology (ICT), thereby establishing citizen-participatory policies.
This workshop, as the first step in conducting the living lab, was attended by 20 citizen participants and 5 expert committee members, and included ▲appointment certificate presentation ▲discussion on the concept of the living lab ▲free discussion on identifying and solving local issues in Gangnam-gu.
Previously, the district accepted applications through its website and community centers until the 6th, and selected the citizen participation group after external evaluation.
The district plans to operate the living lab until the end of September, promoting discussions and participation regarding Gangnam-gu ICT services and discovering tasks to solve urban problems.
