Icheon Logistics Warehouse Fire 'Pan-Government On-Site Response Support Team' Activated
Joint Efforts by 12 Related Ministries to Ensure Early Recovery from Human and Property Damage
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 29th that it has launched the "Pan-Government On-Site Support Team" in cooperation with related ministries from 8 p.m. that day to swiftly manage the fire accident that occurred at a logistics warehouse construction site in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province.
The support team, established in the main conference room of Icheon City Hall, is led by a director from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and includes about 30 staff members from 12 agencies such as the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Ministry of Employment and Labor, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Police Agency, and National Fire Agency. It is organized into five working groups: overall operations, media support, medical/funeral/relief support, on-site inspection and autopsy, and inter-ministerial cooperation.
