[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Samsung SDI stated in a conference call held after announcing its Q1 2020 earnings on the 29th, "The direct impact in Q1 was not significant, but demand reduction in the front end will become substantial in Q2," adding, "Sales are expected to decrease somewhat compared to the plan." It further explained, "Small-sized batteries, which have a higher IT proportion compared to medium-to-large batteries and electronic materials, are expected to be more affected by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19)," and added, "Gradual recovery across all business divisions is anticipated from Q3."
