Hong Joon-pyo "Outsiders drive out the owners and act as party leaders... Will return after reorganization"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Former Liberty Korea Party leader Hong Joon-pyo raised his voice, saying, "Outsiders are driving out the owners and pretending to be the owners of the party."
On the morning of the 29th, former leader Hong held a press conference at the Daegu Seomun Market Merchants' Association office and said, "I am the mainstay of this party."
On the 17th, he also referred to himself as "the owner who has protected the party for 25 years" on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show,' saying, "Outsiders are coming in, taking over the party's main room, and trying to drive out the owners."
Former leader Hong said, "Some outsiders came in and drove out the mainstay, and then monopolized the party leadership again, which the party members will not forgive," adding, "I will return (to the party) once the outsiders are removed."
Regarding Kim Jong-in, the designated emergency committee chairman of the United Party, he pointed out, "He is an outsider over eighty years old with a history as a bribery broker," and said, "It is embarrassing and regrettable to see him clinging to that." He continued, "Kim, hiding his own issues, tried to take over the party by putting forward the absurd and unreasonable claim of the '40s generation theory,'" adding, "According to that logic, our party will have no presidential candidate for at least the next 24 to 25 years."
