Reserve Training Will Not Be Held in the First Half of the Year

On the 29th, the Ministry of National Defense announced, "The reserve forces training originally scheduled to start on June 1 has been postponed to the second half of the year, so it will not be held in the first half of this year."
They added, "Considering the current COVID-19 situation, it has been decided not to conduct training in the first half of the year," and explained, "The start date and training methods by type for the second half will be re-evaluated and announced at least 45 days before the training begins, taking into account the COVID-19 situation and training preparation conditions."
The Ministry of National Defense added, "We will continue to take measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and maintain combat readiness."
Earlier, in February, the Ministry of National Defense took preemptive measures against COVID-19 by postponing mobilization training and reserve forces training, which were scheduled to start on the 2nd of last month, to April 17. Then, last month, the start of mobilization reserve forces training and regional reserve forces training was postponed again to June 1.
Meanwhile, the Armed Forces Daejeon Hospital and Armed Forces Daegu Hospital, which had been designated as COVID-19 specialized infectious disease hospitals, have been released from their designated hospital status. The Armed Forces Daejeon Hospital was designated on February 20, and the Armed Forces Daegu Hospital on February 23 as specialized infectious disease hospitals.
As of 10 a.m. on this day, the cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases within the military is 39, of which 38 have recovered. The only current patient in the military is a Navy soldier. He was the first confirmed case in the military, discharged after recovery on the 23rd of last month, but tested positive again on the 31st of last month.
