Shinhan Card's 'MySonggeum' Surpasses 10 Billion KRW in Transactions in Just 7 Months

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Shinhan Card announced on the 29th that the cumulative usage amount of 'My Songgeum,' the nation's first credit card-based remittance service, has surpassed 10 billion KRW.
Selected as the first phase of the Financial Services Commission's innovative financial services in April last year, My Songgeum is a service that allows person-to-person remittance via credit card even without a balance in the account. In the case of check cards, the amount is immediately deducted from the bankbook balance and can be used through Shinhan Payfan, a digital payment platform.
Since the service opened on October 1st last year, the average daily usage amount reached 46 million KRW, surpassing a cumulative remittance amount of 10 billion KRW in about seven months. In terms of usage count, it averages 420 transactions per day, totaling 90,000 transactions.
Shinhan Card has also prepared related events. Until May 31st, customers who apply for the event prepared on the homepage and newly sign up for and use My Songgeum will receive up to 10,000 KRW cashback. Additionally, customers who are excellent clients of Shinhan Financial Group with 'Shinhan Plus Membership' or 'Shinhan Tops Club' classic grade or higher will enjoy a remittance fee waiver event until July 17th.
