Ahn Yong-gyu, President of Korea National Sport University, Joins 'COVID-19 Overcoming Hope Relay'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Ahn Yong-gyu, president of Korea National Sport University, participated in the hope campaign relay to overcome the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
On the 28th, President Ahn, at the president's office of Korea National Sport University in Songpa-gu, Seoul, expressed gratitude to medical staff and related personnel who are fighting against COVID-19, and conveyed messages of comfort and support to members of our society who are experiencing difficulties due to COVID-19, including infected individuals.
President Ahn said, "I sincerely express my respect and gratitude to the medical staff and related personnel who are fighting COVID-19 day and night," and pledged, "Korea National Sport University will continue its efforts without interruption until COVID-19 is permanently eradicated in Korea and our society is filled with healthy laughter."
The hope campaign relay is conducted by writing encouraging phrases by hand for medical staff, government officials fighting COVID-19, self-employed people suffering from the domestic economic downturn, and the Korean people, then posting them online on social network services (SNS), and nominating the next participants.

President Ahn participated after receiving the hope campaign relay baton from Joo Myung-hyun, chairman of the Private School Teachers' Pension Corporation. The next participants nominated were Lee Ki-heung, president of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee; Cho Jae-gi, chairman of the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation; Ryu Sun-mi, principal of Suyu Elementary School; and Park Sang-young (fencing), an alumnus of Korea National Sport University.
