Construction Design Fees Reduced by 30%... Pohang City Establishes 'Comprehensive Measures for the Construction Market'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Pohang City announced on the 28th that it has established a comprehensive plan related to construction, including lowering the standard architectural design fees until the end of the year, to revitalize the local economy stagnated due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
Considering the economic difficulties caused by the spread of COVID-19, the city decided, after consultation with the local architects association, to reduce the association's permit standard design fees by 30% from next month until the end of December. In addition, for those subject to reductions related to construction violations, 50% of the construction enforcement penalty amount (20% for agricultural and fishery facilities) will be reduced.
The city also requires the submission of a 'Local Win-Win Development Plan' at the start of private construction projects to create jobs and expand participation of local companies. Furthermore, companies with a high participation rate of local firms will be designated as 'Local Win-Win Cooperation Companies' and provided with administrative support incentives.
