Lee Jun-seok: "Linking the Oh Keo-don Case with President Moon Is Gossip Only Found on YouTube"
[Asia Economy Reporter Shinwon Yoon] Lee Jun-seok, Supreme Council Member of the United Future Party, criticized the suspicion that President Moon Jae-in might have known in advance about the sexual harassment case involving former Busan Mayor Oh Keo-don as "YouTuber-level gossip."
On the 27th, Lee appeared on CBS Radio's 'Sisa Jaki with Jung Kwan-yong' and said, "There is a question about whether the delay in the timing of Oh's resignation after the election was intentional, but linking the president to this is not a matter for serious discussion."
There was suspicion that President Moon might have been aware of Oh's sexual harassment case in advance after the law firm Busan, which notarized Oh's resignation, was known to be the firm where President Moon worked as a lead lawyer during his past legal career. The current representative, lawyer Jung Jae-sung, is the nephew-in-law of former President Roh Moo-hyun and was the head of talent recruitment for Oh Keo-don's campaign. However, the Blue House dismissed this as an "absurd claim."
Lee predicted that Oh's resignation was likely discussed with the Democratic Party. He stated, "Oh was elected mayor after several attempts. About half of his election success was probably supported by the party. I doubt there was no consultation with the party (Democratic Party) regarding his resignation."
He continued, "Yoon Ho-jung, the party secretary-general, said he was unaware until just before the resignation, but it is unlikely that no consultation was made with party-related people when such an incident occurred. Since there is concern about a governance vacuum and expected attacks from the opposition, the party should respond. I wonder if someone who has even served as a minister would be unaware of the protocol for handling such public organizational matters."

Lee added, "Even if it had been revealed before the general election, it probably would not have caused changes that could affect the election results. However, it inevitably affects the sentiment of Busan residents, so candidates who lost by a small margin may feel unfair, and it could sufficiently influence upcoming elections."
