Busan City Strengthens Inspections of Entertainment Venues to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jucheol In] Busan City announced on the 28th that it conducted a joint inspection of 35 high-risk facilities in Busanjin-gu over two days starting from the 25th, together with the police and consumer monitors, and found three places violating the Food Sanitation Act.
The city explained that this inspection was a measure to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) after confirming that a confirmed case from Daegu, who tested positive on the 23rd, had used an entertainment facility in Busanjin-gu, Busan.
Business A was caught storing products past their expiration date, while businesses B and C, registered as general restaurants, were found to be selling only alcoholic beverages without preparing or selling food.
The city issued business suspension orders and filed complaints against these establishments. Additionally, administrative measures were taken to suspend operations of the pub and club visited by the confirmed case until the 2nd of next month.
The city plans to conduct crackdowns on violations of the Food Sanitation Act and compliance with infectious disease prevention guidelines together with the police, fire department, and local governments through this weekend.
