Statistics Korea Hosts National Statistics Utilization Competition for Elementary, Middle, and High School Students
[Asia Economy Reporter Joo Sang-don] The Statistics Korea announced on the 28th that it will hold the 22nd National Student Statistics Utilization Competition for elementary, middle, and high school students nationwide.
The purpose of this competition is for students to directly conduct data collection and analysis to create statistical posters, thereby developing problem-solving skills and statistical thinking.
The slogan for this competition is "Convenient Statistics, What is Statistics?" which reflects the intention to create statistical posters that express students' various everyday experiences and curiosities easily and interestingly using statistics, and to discover the convenience and joy of communicating through statistics.
Students wishing to participate in the National Student Statistics Utilization Competition should form teams of up to three members and apply between May 1 and June 12. Statistical posters must be submitted online from June 22 to July 17. Detailed information can be found on the National Student Statistics Utilization Competition website.

Students selected as winners will receive awards from the Minister of Education, the Commissioner of Statistics Korea, and the Superintendent of Education of their city or province, along with scholarships. The awards ceremony will be held at the 26th Statistics Day celebration on September 1. An exhibition of the winning works will also be held in major cities nationwide.
