[Asia Economy Reporter Park Soyeon] LG Chem stated in a conference call following the announcement of its Q1 2020 earnings on the 28th that regarding the battery division's outlook for Q2, "Sales will continue to be affected by COVID-19," adding, "Therefore, disruptions in sales could be greater than in Q1." They continued, "However, with an increase in new electric vehicle orders and the expansion of the Energy Storage System (ESS) market, the overall sales of the battery division are expected to rise by about 20%," and added, "Although there will be setbacks compared to the original plan for the full year 2020, the growth trend will continue."
