Mirae Asset Daewoo, First in Securities Industry to Surpass 9 Trillion KRW in Overseas Stock Assets
9-Fold Increase in 3 Years After Surpassing 10 Trillion Won in 2017
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Hwajeong] Mirae Asset Daewoo announced on the 28th that its overseas stock assets surpassed 9 trillion KRW (9.0866 trillion KRW as of the 27th), marking the first time in the securities industry.
This figure increased by 1.7 trillion KRW this year alone, growing ninefold in three years since surpassing 1 trillion KRW in January 2017.
The significant increase in Mirae Asset Daewoo's overseas stock assets is attributed to excellent overseas stock investment content, employee capabilities in global asset allocation, and overseas stock investment systems comparable to domestic stock investment.
Mirae Asset Daewoo provides overseas stock investment content at a level comparable to domestic stocks through collaboration among its Global Stock Consulting Team, Research Center, and overseas local subsidiaries. Last year, it published a total of 1,158 Korean-language reports related to overseas stocks, averaging 100 reports per month, which is the highest volume in the industry.
To strengthen employee capabilities, Mirae Asset Daewoo holds a Global Brokerage (GBK) forum every quarter, providing information on global market conditions and quarterly recommended stocks. Recently, it has also conducted online seminars for customers on topics such as overseas stocks, market conditions, and issues to improve customer returns, and operates a YouTube channel called ‘Easy Finance Story - Smart Money’ to help customers better understand overseas stocks.
From a system perspective, Mirae Asset Daewoo, as the number one securities firm in overseas stock investment, offers top-level services. While typical overseas stock investments require currency exchange of the respective country’s currency before investing, Mirae Asset Daewoo provides a service that allows purchases without currency exchange.
Additionally, customers can purchase overseas stocks using funds from selling domestic stocks, and services are offered that enable investing in the global market as if it were a single country, such as buying U.S. stocks on the same day after selling Chinese stocks.
