'Van Gogh' at Convenience Stores... Emart24 Broadcasts World Masterpieces on Digital Signage
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Emart24's digital signage is transforming into our neighborhood art gallery.
Emart24 announced on the 28th that from the 29th of this month to the 31st of next month, it will exhibit a total of five world-famous paintings, including Van Gogh's Self-Portrait, through digital signage inside its stores.
Emart24 planned this exhibition so that customers can enjoy small cultural experiences at convenience stores during the ongoing social distancing period due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Digital signage is an advertising medium that displays videos or information, with three units installed above the cash registers inside the stores. Emart24 first introduced digital signage in stores in October last year to inform customers about differentiated products and promotions. As of the end of April, a total of 750 stores nationwide have digital signage installed.
The digital signage will exhibit a total of five world-famous paintings, including Van Gogh's "Self-Portrait," Auguste Renoir's "On the Beach," and Alexei Bogolyubov's "Winter in Borisoglebsk." Motion graphic effects have been added to allow viewers to appreciate the paintings more vividly.
Along with the five world-famous paintings, COVID-19 support messages conducted in collaboration with Joheun Saenggak from the 9th to the 14th of this month will also be available on the digital signage until the end of May.
Considering the time customers spend visiting convenience stores, Emart24 set the display time for each painting at 6 seconds and each support message at 4 seconds. During store operating hours (which vary by store), general advertisements, the five world-famous paintings, and ten support messages will be sequentially broadcast on the digital signage.
Previously, since 2018, Emart24 has continuously introduced complex spaces combining convenience stores and culture at locations such as Samcheong-dong branch, Dongjak Bridge Cloud & Sunset branch, and Daegu 2garden.
