[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Research Fellow Lee Joo-wan has been listed in the Marquis Who's Who in the World, a globally prestigious biographical directory, the POSCO Research Institute announced on the 28th.
Started in 1899, the Marquis Who's Who directory is renowned for its over 100 years of history, accuracy of information, and rigorous selection criteria. Along with the International Biographical Centre (IBC) in Cambridge, UK, and the American Biographical Institute (ABI), it is considered one of the world's top three biographical directories. Published in the United States, it annually selects the top 3% of outstanding individuals from 215 countries worldwide who have made remarkable achievements in politics, economy, society, arts, medicine, science, and other fields, and issues a directory each year.
Research Fellow Lee Joo-wan accurately predicted the semiconductor downturn that weighed heavily on the Korean economy a year in advance, earning a reputation as the country's top IT expert. He exerts global influence by providing consultations and interviews not only domestically but also to overseas media such as Bloomberg, CNBC, Yomiuri, Kyoto News Agency, and Finanz und Wirtschaft.
Additionally, when Japan banned exports of key semiconductor and display materials in July last year, experts from various sectors including the government, National Assembly, Federation of Korean Industries, academic societies, CEOs of small and medium enterprises, and media invited Research Fellow Lee Joo-wan to deliver lectures, seminars, and discussions to seek solutions, drawing attention in the trade-related field as well.

Meanwhile, among the three major biographical directories, he has been listed eight times since 2008 in the International Biographical Centre (IBC) in Cambridge, UK, including as one of the world's top 100 experts and top 100 engineers. In 2012, he was also invited to a royal event commemorating the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's accession to the throne.
