A teacher at a private high school in Daegu has been exposed for repeatedly skipping work without permission, neglecting classes, and habitually verbally abusing students during lessons, causing a public uproar. It was revealed that this teacher is the son of the chairman of the school's foundation.

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Suwan] A scandal has erupted after a teacher at a private high school in Daegu was caught repeatedly skipping work without permission, neglecting classes, and habitually verbally abusing students during lessons. It was revealed that this teacher is the son of the chairman of the school's foundation.
According to MBC's "News Desk" on the 27th, A (40), a teacher in charge of the subject "Career and Occupation" at a private high school in Daegu, repeatedly skipped work without permission last year.
An audit by the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education revealed that from September to the end of November last year, A was absent without permission for 38 out of 52 days.
A school official stated, "A was the only one free from all rules such as unauthorized absence, tardiness, leaving without permission, and early departure."
According to reports, in November last year, complaints were filed regarding verbal abuse, corporal punishment, and neglect of duties, prompting the city education office to conduct a survey. It was found that A forced students to share stories about their first experiences and threatened corporal punishment if they refused.
A graduate of the school confessed in an interview, "I also experienced verbal insults and abusive language."
Due to these issues, A received a warning from the school and was required to write a statement of explanation. However, A continued to frequently skip work without permission and habitually verbally abused and physically punished students.
Nevertheless, no one reported the teacher, and it was confirmed that A's salary was paid on time. Regarding this, a school official pointed out, "Above the principal is Mr. A, and his word is law."
