Gimhae City Establishes 'Comprehensive Food Plan' ... Diversifying Distribution Channels for Local Agricultural Products
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kang Sharon] On the 27th, Gimhae City, Gyeongnam Province announced that it will establish a 'Comprehensive Food Plan' tailored to local conditions and create a virtuous cycle system for locally produced agricultural products by building trust between producers and consumers.
The city plans to diversify agricultural product distribution channels to connect agricultural products produced by farms to income, and will announce a comprehensive plan covering all food-related fields such as production and processing in the second half of this year.
Through this, the city will prioritize the operation of food governance, expansion of local food direct stores, and installation of an integrated food support center, and expand local food supply to establish food welfare and a virtuous food cycle system.
In addition, to produce various foods and secure sales channels, the city will promote differentiated local food activation policies from other local governments, and to diversify agricultural product distribution channels, it is preparing integrated marketing along with online direct transactions and activation of local food direct stores.
To achieve this year’s agricultural food export target of 56 million dollars and diversify overseas markets for export agricultural products, the city plans to invest 3 billion won in 15 projects including logistics cost support projects.
A Gimhae City official said, "We will establish a systematic and safe agricultural product distribution system to actively respond to changes in domestic and international market conditions."
