KBS Symphony Orchestra to Hold Audience-Free Concert and Online Live Broadcast at Seoul Arts Center on May 2
Violinist Lim Ji-young and Pianist Kim Jung-won Collaboration
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] The KBS Symphony Orchestra will present a special concert titled "Uri Hamkke" (Together) via online live streaming on May 2nd.
The performance will take place without an audience at 5 p.m. on May 2nd at the Concert Hall of the Seoul Arts Center, and the live concert will be broadcast through four online channels including KBS Classic FM, KBS's internet streaming service my K, KBS Facebook Live, the visual radio KBS Kong, and the KBS Symphony Orchestra's YouTube channel.
This concert was organized to support medical staff and volunteers who sacrificed on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. The KBS Symphony Orchestra plans to decorate the stage with blue roses, whose flower language symbolizes "miracle and hope," conveying a message of overcoming the COVID-19 crisis together.
Choi Soo-yeol, artistic director of the Busan Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, will conduct, and violinist Lim Ji-young, winner of the 2015 Queen Elisabeth Competition, along with pianist Kim Jung-won, will perform as soloists.

In the first part of the concert, Mendelssohn's "Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage" and the first movement of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 "Emperor" will be performed. In the second part, the second and third movements of Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1 will be played, followed by Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 4 "Italian" as the finale.
