POSCO 1% Nanum Foundation Recruiting Applicants for Advanced Robotic Prosthetic Legs and Arms for National Merit Recipients
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] The POSCO 1% Sharing Foundation is recruiting recipients for the ‘Advanced Assistive Device Support Project for National Merit Recipients,’ which provides customized robotic prosthetic legs and arms to national merit recipients injured in the Korean War or due to public service injuries.
The Advanced Assistive Device Support Project for National Merit Recipients aims to support advanced assistive devices (prosthetic legs and arms) to eligible national merit recipients under the age of 45 (born after January 1, 1975) who have lost limbs due to injuries, helping to overcome functional limitations caused by disabilities and enabling participation in various social activities.
This newly launched project by the 1% Sharing Foundation this year holds special significance as it is conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Korean War, delivering gratitude to national merit recipients who sacrificed for the country through funds collected from all POSCO employees.
Applications for the Advanced Assistive Device Support for National Merit Recipients are open from April 27 to May 15. Applicants can download the application form from the POSCO 1% Sharing Foundation website (www.poscofoundation.org) and the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs website (www.mpva.go.kr), complete it, and submit it via email. The 1% Sharing Foundation will select final recipients through document screening and on-site inspections.
