The locations include Daehakro, Myeongdong, Suyu, Cheongdam Cine City, Piccadilly 1958, Hagye (all in Seoul), Gimpo Pungmu, Uijeongbu Taeheung, Paju Munsan, Pyeongtaek Sosa, Yeonsu Station, Incheon Airport (all in Gyeonggi and Incheon), Daejeon Gao, Cheonan, Cheongju Yullyang, Hongseong (all in Daejeon and Chungcheong), Centum City, Masan, Changwon (all in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam), Daegu, Daegu Suseong, Daegu Stadium, Daegu Hanil, Daegu Hyundai, Daegu Wolseong, Daegu Academy, Pohang (all in Daegu and Gyeongbuk), Gwangju Geumnam-ro, Gwangju Yongbong, Gwangju Hanam, Seojeonju, Jeonju Gosa, Jeonju Hyoja, Mokpo (all in Gwangju and Jeolla), Wonju, and Jeju (all in Gangwon and Jeju).
A CGV official stated, “Although the burden of fixed costs such as rent, management fees, and labor costs remains, we decided to resume operations considering the damage to the film industry as well as the local commercial districts.” He added, “We will create a viewing environment where customers can feel safe by thoroughly managing hygiene, including quarantine measures, seating with spacing in front and behind, providing hand sanitizers, and checking the temperature of employees.” However, the number of screenings will be reduced to three per day, considering that social distancing measures will be maintained until the 5th of next month. The ‘Screen Cut Off System,’ which operates only some screening rooms, will also be maintained for the time being.

As CGV takes the first step toward normal operations, distributors are individually reviewing film release schedules. Ace Maker Movie Works has confirmed the release of ‘Intruder,’ starring Song Ji-hyo and Kim Mu-yeol, on May 21. This film was originally scheduled to be released in March but was postponed due to the spread of COVID-19. CJ Entertainment plans to release ‘Collectors,’ starring Lee Je-hoon, in early June once the COVID-19 situation stabilizes. Lotte Cultureworks also plans to release ‘Alone,’ starring Yoo Ah-in and Park Shin-hye, around the same time.
