The number has remained below 20 for a week. The total number of confirmed cases in the country increased to 10,708. The number of patients isolated and undergoing treatment after infection dropped below 2,000 to 1,967 for the first time in over two months since the end of February.
Among the cases, 2 are estimated to have been imported from overseas, including 1 detected during quarantine and 1 in Busan. They arrived from the Americas, including Uruguay. The remaining 4 cases, presumed to be infected within the local community, include 2 in Daegu, and 1 each in Gyeonggi and Gyeongbuk.
The number of patients released from isolation increased by 90 in one day, totaling 8,501 so far. Excluding patients released from isolation after full recovery and deaths, 1,967 patients remain isolated and receiving treatment. As of 0:00 AM today, the number of deaths remains unchanged at 240 compared to the previous day.
