Lotte Horror Contest Grand Prize Winner Im Seohoo's 'Bupyeong Underground Dungeon'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jonggil Lee] Lotte Cultureworks announced on the 23rd that the grand prize of the 'Lotte Horror Contest' was awarded to writer Im Seohu's zombie horror comedy "Bupyeong Underground Dungeon." Among 274 submissions received from February 4 to 20, the work was selected as the final grand prize winner after screening. "Bupyeong Underground Dungeon" tells the story of a foul-mouthed cleaning lady who has become a zombie antibody carrier and, together with her daughter, a long-term civil service exam candidate, attempts to escape from the Bupyeong underground shopping mall, which has become a zombie den, by selling the antibodies. Director Jung Beomsik of the film "Gonjiam," who conducted the judging, said, "With imagination rarely seen in conventional commercial cinema, it is expected to breathe new life into zombie-themed films." Writer Im will receive a prize of 30 million won and a plaque. Lotte Cultureworks plans to produce this script as a feature film together with Hive Media Corp, the production company of "Gonjiam."
