Jeonbuk Province Goes All Out to Secure National Budget for Next Year

According to Jeonbuk Province on the 23rd, on this day, Executive Vice Governor Choi Yong-beom took over the baton and visited the Government Sejong Complex to continue his brisk efforts to secure the national budget.
Earlier, on the 20th, Deputy Governor for Political Affairs Woo Beom-gi visited central government ministries.
On this day, Executive Vice Governor Choi Yong-beom visited the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, and Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries in succession, explaining in detail the necessity of national funding support and requesting special attention and support to be reflected in the 2021 government budget proposal.
First, visiting the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, he requested the inclusion of 500 million KRW for basic planning and feasibility study expenses necessary for establishing a ‘Publishing Industry Complex Cluster’ to make the Korea Publishing Culture Industry Promotion Agency, which serves as the control tower of the domestic publishing industry, a publishing hub in the Honam region.
At the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, he proposed the early commencement of construction for the Buyeo~Iksan section of the West Inland Expressway Pyeongtaek~Iksan route, planned for the second phase in 2029, from the perspective of regional balanced development, to open simultaneously with the first phase Pyeongtaek~Buyeo section. He also requested maximum reflection in the ‘2nd Expressway Construction Plan,’ ‘5th Five-Year Plan for National and Local Roads Construction,’ and ‘2nd National Road Network Comprehensive Plan.’
At the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, he requested the inclusion of 2 billion KRW for the ‘Traditional Food Safety Monitoring’ project to secure scientific and rational response data against negative opinions on domestic and international traditional fermented foods, and 100 million KRW for the ‘Establishment of a Shared Platform for Vinegar Culture Industry Promotion’ project linking agriculture (production), processing, and experience.
At the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, he emphasized the inclusion of 1.2 billion KRW in service fees necessary for the ‘Development of the South Breakwater and Wharf at Sangwangdeungdo Port,’ designated as a nationally managed coastal port in August 2012, to ensure calm waters at the mooring facilities. He also advocated for the selection of the ‘2nd Dredged Soil Disposal Site Construction Project’ as a preliminary feasibility study target project to replace Geumrando, the saturated dredged soil disposal site at Gunsan Port, and the inclusion of 1 billion KRW for the feasibility study service fees for the ‘Geumrando Redevelopment Project’ to develop Geumrando into a marine leisure and ecological space.
