[Asia Economy Beijing=Special Correspondent Park Sun-mi] China reported 10 new COVID-19 cases in a single day on the 22nd.
On the 23rd, the National Health Commission of China (NHC) announced that as of midnight, there were 10 new confirmed COVID-19 cases. Six of these were imported cases infected overseas and entering China, while the remaining four were added in Heilongjiang Province (3 cases) and Guangdong Province (1 case).
So far, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in China stands at 82,798. Among them, 4,632 have died and 77,207 have been discharged from hospitals. Currently, 959 patients are receiving hospital treatment for COVID-19, with 20 suspected cases and 8,429 close contacts under medical observation.
Asymptomatic infections, which are not included in the confirmed case statistics, have reached 984, including 27 newly added cases in one day. Among the asymptomatic infections, 166 are imported cases from overseas.

Meanwhile, outside mainland China in the Greater China region, a total of 1,504 COVID-19 cases have been reported: 1,033 in Hong Kong, 45 in Macau, and 426 in Taiwan.
