WGHOF announced on the 23rd (Korean time) that "Burning has been selected as the 2021 inductee." With this, next year's Hall of Fame members have increased to four, including the "resurrected golf emperor" Tiger Woods, the late Marion Hollins, and Timpincham (all from the USA). Burning was the first woman to enter Oklahoma City University as a golf scholarship student and compete against male players. She turned professional in 1964 and achieved a total of 11 wins on the LPGA Tour, including 4 major championships. In the US Women's Open, she notably claimed the title three times in 1968, 1972, and 1974. She was named LPGA Tour Rookie of the Year in 1964 and received the Most Improved Player Award in 1967.
