Gyeonggi-do Offers Free Traffic Prevention Consultation in Apartments
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is launching a 'Traffic Safety Expert Advisory Support Project' to reduce traffic accidents within apartment complexes.
The expert advisory will be conducted by newly establishing a traffic sector within the 'Gyeonggi Province Apartment Complex Technical Advisory Group,' which provides technical support during repair works for multi-family housing complexes with 30 or more households.
The technical advisory group will visit the target complexes to prepare design plans and provide construction advice to improve traffic safety facilities and address risk factors such as indiscriminate pedestrian routes, pedestrian path discontinuities, lack of safety installations, underground parking lot entry and exit systems, and children's school bus turning areas.
According to data published by the Insurance Development Institute in 2017, out of approximately 4 million traffic accidents nationwide, 8%, or 320,000 cases, occurred within apartment complexes.
