The Japan Ladies Professional Golf Association (JLPGA) Tour announced on the 19th through its homepage that it has canceled the Resort Trust Ladies (total prize money 100 million yen) scheduled for May 28. This is a safety measure in response to the recent spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Japan. Since the season opener Daikin Orchid Ladies in early March 2020, 13 consecutive events have already been canceled. The next scheduled event is the Yonex Ladies (total prize money 70 million yen) on June 5.

A total of 144 players will participate, with a unique format where after the 2nd round, the top 102 players tie, and after the 3rd round, the top 70 players tie again to advance to the final 4th round. The KLPGA plans to donate 190 million won to the Korean Red Cross, combining 50 million won from the 'COVID-19' relief fund and a special membership fee (6%) of 140 million won deducted from players' prize money.
