36-Year-Old Woman from Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu Tests Positive After Visiting the United States
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 18th, one additional COVID-19 positive case was confirmed in Gangnam-gu.
As a result, the total number of confirmed cases in Gangnam-gu has increased to 62.
A 36-year-old woman residing in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, visited New York, USA for work in February and returned on the 16th via Asiana Airlines flight OZ221. After arrival, she took a taxi designated for overseas arrivals and visited the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center screening clinic for testing. She was confirmed positive this morning.
Jung Soon-gyun, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, stated, "When overseas arrivals enter Gangnam-gu, the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center immediately conducts testing. After the 14-day self-quarantine period ends, another test is conducted. Even if there are no symptoms after self-quarantine, please be sure to visit the health center for another test."
He also announced that until midnight on the 19th, the last day of the government’s high-intensity social distancing, the entire 8.55 km section of Yangjaecheon Stream in Seocho-gu and Gangnam-gu will be completely closed, and asked residents for their understanding and active cooperation once again.
