Since February, the county has been operating the ‘Tamjin River Guardians Task Force’ to create a unique landscape, recently focusing on maintaining the Tamjin River and creating a scenic forest using idle local land.
The ‘Tamjin River Guardians Task Force’ is making efforts to manage trees planted along the riverbank, such as cherry trees, golden euonymus, crape myrtle, and red holly.
Through soil covering work, fertilizer application, and mowing to improve the growth environment of the lawn, they are creating a clean and beautiful Tamjin River, receiving great responses from residents.
On the embankment slopes along the Tamjin River, they added visual interest by planting azaleas and golden euonymus in a topiary style with water festival promotional phrases.
Jangheung County plans to offer beautiful scenery to tourists and locals visiting the Tamjin River by planting shrubs such as red holly and golden euonymus in the future.
Creating distinctive landscapes using idle land around villages is also attracting attention.
Following Scenic Forest No. 1 at the entrance of Haengwon Village in Jangheung-eup, the scenic forest project planted golden euonymus along the connecting road section from Yeonsan-ri in Jangheung-eup to Naean-ri in Busan-myeon, creating the beautiful and vibrant Scenic Forest No. 2.
